IMPORTANT TO KNOW

Why it's important to start myopia control on time

Nearsightedness in children is not just about wearing glasses. Without control, it can progress and increase the risk of complications in the future.

Myopia develops unnoticed

In children, myopia often progresses without pain or obvious complaints. Early detection is only possible with regular diagnostics.

📉

Without control, myopia worsens as the eye grows

Regular glasses correct vision but don't affect the progression mechanism. With progressive myopia, vision drops by 1 diopter or more per year. Special lenses are designed to slow this process by half.

🔬

High myopia increases the risk of complications

The higher the degree of myopia, the greater the likelihood of retinal diseases and other serious complications in the future.

Most effective to act during growth period

Myopia control is most effective during childhood and adolescence when the eye is actively developing. Slowing myopia growth by 1 diopter in childhood can reduce the risk of myopic maculopathy by 40%.

OUR SOLUTION

We apply methods proven to slow myopia progression

Clinical studies have shown that myopia control lenses are effective in reducing myopia progression. After 12–18 months, myopia progression decreased by approximately 50%.

The lenses continued to be effective after 4–5 years, reducing myopia progression by 40% over this period. We work with technologies from world leaders — Rodenstock MyCon and LTL MyoJunior — specifically designed to slow myopia in children.

EDUCATION

Why myopia cannot be ignored

Understanding the problem is the first step to solving it.

Myopia (nearsightedness) is a vision disorder where a child sees well up close but has difficulty distinguishing objects at a distance. This happens because the eyeball elongates, and the image focuses in front of the retina rather than on it. In children, myopia often starts developing at school age and can progress until 18-20 years old.

In myopia, the eye becomes longer than normal, and light from distant objects focuses in front of the retina rather than on it. As a result, distant images appear blurry while the child sees clearly up close. Myopia development is influenced by heredity, prolonged visual strain at close range (including screen work), and insufficient time spent in daylight.

With high-degree myopia, there is an increased risk of retinal changes, thinning, detachment, as well as other eye diseases including glaucoma. Therefore, myopia is not just about choosing glasses — it's about long-term eye health and reducing future risks.

Myopia in a child cannot be accurately assessed through a quick exam or self-administered vision check. Full ophthalmological diagnostics with modern equipment and professional specialist evaluation are necessary for detection and progression control.

I brought my daughter for an eye check-up. The doctor found an early stage of myopia that we wouldn't have noticed for a long time. Now we wear special lenses, and the progression has stopped. Very grateful for the professionalism!
